Is there a cost to the patient to get the COVID-19 vaccination?
No, there is no cost to the patient.
Can I get the COVID-19 vaccine and Flu vaccine together?
Giving a flu vaccine with a COVID-19 vaccine on the same day is allowed. All Flu Vaccines are administered free during May. Patients should talk to their doctor if they have any queries.
Am I required to get vaccinated for work? (WA)
Employers can only require their employees to be vaccinated when:
- a specific law (such as a state or territory public health order) requires it
- the requirement is permitted by an enterprise agreement, other registered agreement or employment contract, or
- they give their employees a lawful and reasonable direction to be vaccinated – whether a direction is lawful and reasonable is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Who can get a COVID-19 vaccine?
If you’re an adult and it’s been 6 months or more since your last COVID-19 vaccination or infection, you can now get a booster. Top up your protection with the latest vaccine.(See: health.gov.au 5 Apr 2023)

What are the possible side effects from the COVID-19 Vaccine?
- Pain
- Swelling
- Tenderness, redness or itching around the injection site
- Tiredness
- Headache
- Muscle pain
- Nausea
- Chills and fever
- Feeling unwell
- Joint pain
Less common side effects after COVID-19 Vaccine include:
- Enlarged lymph nodes
- Pain in limb
- Dissiness
- Decreased appetite
- Stomach pain
If your side effects last longer than a couple of days, please seek medical advice from your doctor.
Chronic Disease Management
If a patient is eligible and has signs of a chronic disease such as arthritis, asthma, back pain, cancer, cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes or mental health conditions. Depending on their prognosis they can now access the following over the phone:
- GP Management Plan
- Team Care Arrangement – where the patient will be cover Medicare rebates for five allied health consults
- Mental Health Care Plan for things like depression, anxiety or stress and will cover Medicare rebates for sessions per year
